As much as we’d love to pretend that the weather is going to be super dooper hot all summer, there’s a fair chance we will see some rain. And it’s always the rainy days, when they can’t get out into the garden to burn off some steam, that the kids drive you up the wall, isn’t it?

MOSI

After rumours and stories that the MOSI could be up for closure soon, you’d best get there whilst you can . This summer they have a new exhibit about North West animation. Learn about key personalities, watch animated sequences and have a go at creating your own simple moving image. The exhibition showcases MOSI’s significant collections alongside rarely seen objects from personal collections, including famous puppets, and will fascinate whether you are a fan of Chorlton and the Wheelies, Danger Mouse or Toby’s Travelling Circus. Bury Art Museum is a lovely venue for families ordinarily but on Saturdays they hold an arts and crafts sessions for 2-12 year olds so the kids can have a go at creating. Entry to the museum is free but the art sessions cost £2 per child. Visit their website.
National Football Museum, Manchester

We visited the national football museum recently and had a wonderful time. It was very child friendly with lots of interactive exhibits as well as a virtual football game and a dressing up box. Visit their website.

Legoland Discovery

We loved Legoland Discovery when went, there was just so much to do. From building and racing cars, climbing the giant sort play climbing frame, riding giant Lego cars around a track, signing on the karaoke machine and playing in the giant Lego pits. the kids had a ball and us adults rather enjoyed ourselves too.
